of town hunt, big silver and it was HOT, HOT, HOT!!!!!:clapping::clapping:

Lee and I went to the club out of town hunt last weekend and it was really hot over there. We got there about noon on Friday and got all of our gear unpacked and stuffed into our cabin. At $80 a night they at least had a toaster and air conditioning thank God!!:clapping: I took my little microwave along as neither of us planned on doing any cooking.... : ) Got the car unpacked and headed out back of our cabin and started detecting. It was hard digging as the type of grass over there was really rooty not to mention that the ground was very dry. I pulled a silver ring and a wheatie out of there and then the heat got really bad. When it cooled off some we headed to the state park across the lake from our place and the digging was much better over there. They keep the grass watered very well and there is nothing better then digging in nice soft dirt that is as black as coal and then seeing the glint of silver when you dig a plug. I was rewarded with a nice 1936 WLH and wondered how this was missed by a ton of detectorists in the pass, but all toll there were three WLH's found and one Franklin half found while we were there. I took my SE and my XS as a backup, but left my small coils at home. There was a ton of junk in that park and it made it hard to find the sweet sounds, so it was slow and go and I mean slow swinging my coil to pick up that sound we all like to hear. There really wasn't a lot of silver found and not to be bragging, but I think my buddy Lee and I found more silver between the two of us then all the people combined that made the hunt. Some of the guys did some water detecting in the swimming areas, but not much luck there. I really thought there would be more rings found there, but I think there were only about three rings found altogether. I got $10.40 in clad, my 36 WLH, 36 and 43 mercs, a 51 rosie, wheats were 2-35's with one that got clipped by a lawnmower, a 39, 44, 50, 53 and 2-57's and the silver ring. Lee got 13 wheaties from 1921 to 57, a 42 merc, a 54 and 61 rosies and $13.40 in clad. It was a fun trip and hoped for more silver, but you gotta take what your coil passes over and as always it was fun being with good company and just getting out enjoying this great hobby no matter what the temperature is. Thanks for looking fellows and GL & HH to all of you.

A walker, 2 mercs and a roosie. Where have I seen this before? Excellent finds Eddie.

I was wrong for saying that Lee and I may have found more silver between the two of us then all the people combined at the hunt and I do apologise for that because like I told you in my PM to you, I didn't know for sure just what everyone else got for the whole time we were there.
