Odd Find Today

My neighbors told me of an old homesite near me,being such nice weather and no work
I decided to take off. Not much in the way of remains, just some old slabs of stone and one
lonely tulip tree. After digging a pouch full of tin foil and assorted trash I found what I believe is
a thimble,a first for me and some sort of clip that appears to be copper, once covered in silver
plate as a tiny bit still remains. All in all a good day spent outdoors, thanks for looking and HH

Hi Terri,

I saw a themble like that in a display at the Pine Bluff, AR museium.

It was period things with a spinning wheel and a wooden textile machine.

That was a while back.

I remember it because I thought that they should not have stopped making

thembles like that.

Nice finds,

Hi TD and Thanks for the info. Never thought much about a thimble, I posted
on another forum and was told they were made for ladies that had long finger
nails ,hence the open top  Think I'll go back today and maybe venture in
the wooded area near by,I Hope There Are No Snakes , I Hate Snakes :look:

hi echostar, i see you found a nice suspender clip/buckle. and a nice thimble too! i can't help but think there's some silver and a couple of indians laying in the ground there waiting for you! i think the top of the thimble broke out. i found a couple like that too. iv'e always made a lot of noise in the woods, that usually runs all the snakes off. too bad it don't work with ticks! nice finds, echostar. hh,
