Odd find - rabies vaccine tag

I've been working out of state the last week and finally got home to warm sunniness Thursday. Took a few minutes today and hunted the yard next door finding a number of modern coins going back to 1963 and this little tag. I thought it was another penny until I cleaned it up a bit and noticed the hole at the top. Turns out to be a Fort Dodge rabies vaccine tag. No clue on how old it is. It was buried about 6 inches down in the remains of an old garden long over grown. The Compadre sounded off like it was a coin.
 
That's a very interesting find. I like finding stuff like that. :cheers:

Neat find JMC, not sure if this is from the same year as yours but they look very similar.
 
That looks like exactly the same design as the one found here. Thanks for posting the shot. Now I've got some idea as to the age.

You are welcome. Never know what them little Compadre's will sniff out, they sure have a real good nose.
