I dug this a few years ago and was told it may be a dish based Burnside. I havent seen one like this listed being flat topped. It doesnt looked carved. It appears to be 58 cal. Thanks

old wadcutter. pistol shooters used to have to cast their own bullets. lots of varieties out there. Alos it is white but not cw white so it looks later than cw to me.
 
It is a Burnside carbine bullet. "Dish base" is the nickname. Burnside bullets contained an alloy which usually leaves them gray/white or with bad deterioration. The flat nose can be from cutting or pounding. Burnside's were brass cased bullets. You can see where the case mouth was crimped. Good hunting, David @ Dixie
