Oct 18 and 19 Hunt

Start of this weekends hunt at the site - http://www.findmall.com/read.php?30,818885

A few interesting finds, nothing extraordinary.

Before my brother and I headed out I was looking at the trash from the hunt on Oct 5 and logging it all in my field notebook- I'm doing that for a school project which involves metal detecting. As I re examined a mystery brass piece I realized it was part of a spoon with some silver (?) plating on the other side.

Today yielded two small pieces of pewter (?), a lead buckshot ball (?), a guitar tuner (?), what I thought at first was pieces of a harness buckle ( seems to be made of alluminum, but it was a deep target plus has a lot of oxidation. It may end up in the trash), and a nice flat button with floral design. Also seen here is the spoon fragment.

Couldn't make it out to the site, my brother's friend wasn't home. Instead we tried another of my brother's friends who lives off Old Stage Rd in Prince George County , Va. We checked the woods and only found three shotgun shells.

Here's the cuff sized flower button from yesterday. The back looks like it reads "Treble Gilt....". Unfortunately the gilt had worn off long ago.
