Ocean City, NJ

Going on vacation to Ocean City, NJ next week. Any custom user settings that are ideal for the beach or should I just go with the preset program for the beach? Thanks for your help!

Newbie

P.S. I have a Whites DFX.

Have not had the chance to hunt salt water with my DFX yet but have done pretty good at the fresh water lakes in my area. Heres what I do. You can give it a try and see.

Load the Beach/Jewelery preset program

Bump the AC sens up to 75

Bump the preamp gain to 3 (or 4 if its stable enough)

Go to block edit and accept everything from +5 to +95

My experience has been that the very thin gold rings can read anywhere from 8 to 20 with the larger ones reading higher up to about 50. If you get a solid repeatable signal anywhere in the accepted range dig it. Just my 2 cents. Good luck and let us know how you do.
