Either place can be rewarding, I've hunted both, Sand is very grainy and targets either get sweep out or sink, so if you don't get them with in a couple tides they are gone. So OC is a fresh drop beach......The water is ruff, just like the jersey shore. ...OC gets a lot of visitors from New York, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. More of the older family types, south of the pier is little Medico. Best hunting when the water is warm...July to Sept.
VB is a little different but still very similar, Sand is not as course, water is not as ruff. Flatter beach, A younger crowd, One good thing VB is the Chesapeake Bay is only a few minutes north so if the hunting is not good at the ocean you can hit the bay. One heck of a lot more hunters in VB, and like OC best hunting in the summer.
I'll be in OC from June till Sept..look me up..
