Was just looking to book a trip to the Outer Banks, NC for this summer in July.

my GF's version of a beach vacation? reading on the beach.
my version of a beach vacation? treasure hunting!

my GF was on the net trying to find a beach house or something that sleeps 4-6, I figured I'd ask here and wondering if anyone was in that area with ideas, or vacationed there, and had any suggestions on beach houses?

thanks!

Its not on the beach but there used to be an awesome bed and breakfast between the town of Bath and Swans quarters that I used to go to to get away from it all. Its easy to take the ferry across at swans quarters to get to Ocracoke island. Bath is the oldest town in NC and the home of the famous Blackbeard who was killed off Ocracoke island. I am a former North Carolinian but live in Texas now. I sure do miss Ole Caroline.

I went 3 years ago ....we stayed in a huge house in Duck. I will get you the name of the agency that set us up. The place we had was 3 times the size you need but there should be others.

Just to let you know the strip of the outer banks below Nagshead south is the National Seashore and is federal land. a couple of years ago they put up signs on beach access that states the rules and one of them is no metal detecting. Nagshead and north you are fine.

Take care
Bob

thanks for the info. Might stay up in Corolla, by the light house, where I did before a while ago. I remember driving my Jeep on the beach and seeing metal detecting. That was before I got into it.

ahhhhh thats where the wild horses run free is it not? ok you can check with Midgett realty ....thats who I went through 3 years ago for a place.

been going as a family for over 15 consecutive yrs now.....for the most part we stay from southern shores up thru duck area....you can detect any place from corolla south all the way to around Mile post 16.5 from then on it turns into National Seashore..I've done very good in just about all locations..so I really can't single out a specific area to hit..
