Observations on MXT at the beach

I have recently moved to the coast here in New England. I have used the MXT for hunting many times on land but seldom at the beach.Of course now that I live on the beach I have been doing some experimenting. Here are some observations you may find helpfull when going to the beach with your machine.
Going from dry sand to damp and then to wet would drive me crazy at first. However as soon as my machine starts getting noisy or starts to fault I just stop and pump the coil up and down untill it quiets down, this may take 10 to 15 pumps but it works extremely well. This method works for me better than locking the ground as it seems when I lock the ground and go from dry to wet sand, or vice versa, it will false and get noisy.
I generally use relic mode with sensitivity at 8 and disc at 2, trigger centered.
Vdi numbers a lot of times are incorrect or will bounce around. I am finding when they do this it is generally a pretty well corroded coin or target it is trying to pick up, so any good strong signal I dig, after all it is only sand and digging is a breeze.
Although I do have the covers for the MXT I have purchased a whites sticker that sticks over the speaker holes, beach sand is extremely find so I dont take any chances.
All this may allready be known by most of you,but I have received tons of help on here and hope I can return the favor by posting every so often.
HH to all and C'MON SPRING
