Worked a pretty good stretch of curb turf this morning and ended up with a few keepers. Rather then swinging parallel with the sidewalk and curb, I stood in the street and swung horizontal, swinging from the curb towards the sidewalk. As a result, dug 8 wheat cents, some clad and Memorial's, a 49d Washington quarter and a sterling "made in Siam" ring. Knowing that these curb strips had been hunted, I checked several of the targets swinging from the typical parallel directions and a couple barely chirped and those that did weren't the best sounding. Hence, it does pay to hit good spots from different directions.
I will say with a great deal of conviction that this A T Pro detector just continues to amaze me. Regardless of what coil I use, it simply is one stellar detector for hunting trashy sites. I did have the NEL Sharpshooter on this morning. In the first picture just above the quarter is a tooth like looking piece of iron. The A T hit the Washington quarter with that piece of iron just off to the side of the coin about, maybe 2," at most. Pretty respectful, I would say.
Oh, a little history. Siam is now Thailand and became such in 1948, so the sterling ring has a bit of age to it. HH jim tn
