How would you rate this detector overall for depth, weight and target I.D.? I am torn between 3 tesoro models and found a sweet deal on a used Deleon but I also have been looking at Cibola and Vaquero. I Relic hunt in older sites but my passion is finding old coins, I also take trips to the parks at times just to get out and hunt!

I am very happy with this machine and I would not trade it for any other I had considered getting a Cortez just because it is a little more versitile. Anyway the depth is amazing I don't what kind of ground you have but here I have no problem finding coins at 8" depths or better. As you get to know what the DeLeon is telling you you can tell a penny or a silver acurately at this depth without any problem. My deepest coin was a silver quarter at 12" in a park that keeps giving up silver coins in the 6' to 12' range and I know this park has been hunted hard as it is the biggest park in town.

From what you posted I think you need to consider relic hunting versus your coin shooting. Personally, if the coin shooting was my main interest, I'd probably go with the DeLeon and the TID. If relic hunting takes first place, I'd skip the Cibola and go with the Vaquero due to the ground handling of the manual ground balance. These would be my choices.

Thanks everyone for your input, I trade my M6 for a Vaquero with xtra 5.75 and 12x10 coils everthing I will need for a long time of hunting, The manual GB machine seemed to be the best choice for hunting style and mineral content of the soil here in N.H. I have joined the Tesoro team!!!!!

Welcome aboard Treasurechic! Glad to have you join the Tesoro club! The Vaquero is a great machine and will do all you ask it to and more! Good luck with the new Vaquero, Beale.

I liked every Tesoro I have ever had, except the DeLeon, it just wasn't for me. You made a wise choice in getting the Vaquero. Steve.
