Ny York City Beaches

This storm has been hitting us for two days, all west wind up to 50mph. Will that wind make cuts in the beach? I'm usually a coin guy, and am taking Tuesday off. Anyone do Coney Island or Brighton Beach in Brooklyn NY. I've heard its the east wind you want. Is west worth checking for beach cuts? Desmond Brooklyn, NY

It's always worth checking. If there are cuts you will almost surely find many targets in working the wet sand between the cut wall and the water, best at low tide. Probably someplace close to right in the middle of that, though I would work in a wide "S" pattern or a zig-zag going from the water to the cut wall until I found the line of coins.

Coney Island gets hit pretty hard.. try looking for an out of the way smaller beach..
