Wow that's close! I live between Lowell and Cedar lake in the country.
Years ago there was a m.d. club in Lowell, there were some Crown Point guys in it. Could you be one of that club?

I've been detecting since 1980. Retired early have lots of time to play. Just don't like cold weather detecting Come on spring, sheese getting tired of this.

Were hunting today in the area. Ground has been unthawed for about 3 weeks. Going to be a great day.

As I said before I've been detecting since the 80es. Used garretts for a while now I have a Whites XLT.Looking for something else possible a Garrett AT/ I do have a Garretts Pro Pointer, that is almost a Detector in it's self,it is really the best, as I had others.

Have they ripped up the parking lot of the old, abandoned school in Lowell? I found some excellent finds there. I can only imagine what is under that parking lot. Found my first silver in the park behind that school......an 1899 Barber dime. Was right in the bottom of the plug when I flipped it over. After that, I was hooked.

I grew up in Merrillville then lowell. Got my first detector when I lived in Lowell. Started hunting around 1980. I sometimes miss that old town.....
