Numbers on the SE

Tony in SC

New member
I've been swinging the SE every day for three weeks. My digital screen discriminate numbers and my pinpoint numbers are almost never the same. Which should be the most accurate? I've got it set up for three tone ID and I'm having more success going by the tone, But I would like to understand the numbers better. Thanks, Tony

I see the same thing with my SE. According to the manual, in 'pinpoint' it locks onto the strongest signal...so it might read big iron first rather than a good target near it.
With both, it is also important to pinpoint well, to get the most accurate reading. I'm looking FW to reading others' responses.

Hi Tony,

Personally I can't come to grips with the digital screen (Numbers) I always hunt using All Metal and the smartfind screen, with ferrous tones, if I get a good signal and the cross hairs show up on the screen in a likely place I dig it.

Regards....Boony
