Hi guys, First time posting here.
I just got a Bounty Hunter Pioneer 505 and was wondering if anyone has found any gold nuggets with their 505 or is it used more for larger items even though it comes with the smaller coil marked for gold nuggets ?? Thanks in advance.

I don't know bought nuggets but I bought one in a pawn shop for 50.00$ and my wife and I love it we have found so much stuff rings and coins last month we found three rings and a lot of coins.

Does anyone know what the best metal detector to buy for under $500. for a excellent range of metals, coins to mineral deposits. Thanks

Hello Pattylou...I take it you have never owned a metal detector??? if not, I would not suggest going out and buying the most expensive, or fanciest machine on the market...Keep it simple to start off...I might suggest Bounty Hunter Pioneer 505 (Sharp Shooter II), Bounty Hunter Land Star, or maybe one of the new Titanium series coming out in July...
if the Bounty Hunter Lineup is not your bag, then I might suggest a Tesoro Compadre, or Tesoro Cibola, The White's Prizm V, or Minelab X-Terra 70
All of these machines are great and will find you most anything that is metal...If water or beach hunting will be your main gig, you might want to consider a Pulse Induction type machine...These tend to be on the more expensive side though...The final decision must be your own...I have only given you some suggestions to start on...If you have a local dealer near you (Google search for dealers and metal detectors), have them show you different machines and tell them exactly what you wish to do with the detector...They are your best resource of information...

Happy Hunting,
