Nugget shooting in northern Nevada

Just ordered a Garrett at gold to start nugget shooting in northern Nevada, does anyone know of historically productive places in the vicinity of Elko?

Look here, it is not expensive to get this add on to google earth and is really helpful. http://www.minecache.com/register/

next join the GPAA as they have claims all over the country you are allowed to prospect on. going on other peoples claims will get you in jail real fast.

Google gold prospecting clubs for Nevada, has to be some. Look here to start. http://nevada-outback-gems.com/basic_prospecting/joining_club.htm

It takes a lot of research and I have a bunch of websites bookmarked for the different places I want to hunt. It is fun though even though I have only done it once since getting the AT Gold. Living in Florida is a bummer but my son lives just south of Colorado and my daughter in Phoenix so I do get out that way some.

Good luck.

Johnho,
Thanks for the info about minecache add on. I already had the site bookmarked for Nevada outback gems, good website, lots of info. I have contacted the blm out here concerning recreational prospecting and they told how to use their website to make sure I'm not on any active mining claims while prospecting blm land. ( definitely don't want to be shot for a claim jumper!)
Make sure you post your treasures next time you make it to Phoenix, I plan on making it down there this fall.

Happy hunting.
