Found all the flagpole holders!!! 25 of 'em. Appeared to be 2" dia. iron water pipe pieces. That's what my SS II UM told me they were!!! Zero'd right in on 'em. Display told me... Iron... 2" deep. KOOOOOL! Knobs were @ VLF & All Metal / Disc. borderline. Did have a few other hits along the roadside.... showed as penny/dime..... left 'em lie. That's not what I was there for.Now the boys can shine again for this weekend! SALUTE!!! Bigsquid55

The kids and i got so darn busy today takin care of outside chores ,
I kinda forgot about Memorial Day, this weekend.
i am a Veteran,. my Great uncles were at pearl harbor that day,
Along with Great Grandmother i never met.(who had kept a chunk of shrapnel ,
that landed next to her ,as she laid behind a wall, at a church, where she was waiting for her sons,
when hell broke loose, they were running late ,of course, being young, and Sunday mornin.
one of my Great uncles ,flew/fought against the germans , in the air over Europe..
Anyhow ,,, i SALUTE you for your service, to our Country, and our fallen Soldiers.
Happy Memorial day

Hello, Dusty! Bigsquid here. Thanks for the comeback! Interesting ancestry, very honorable! I had an uncle that was in the Battle of the Bulge! He survived that intrusion, but, left 3 toes from his left foot there...a stray bullet. My dad was a hamm operator in Germany from '50 to '53. Myself, I retired from AFRES/NG in 2000 ( 23 year E-7 ). Finding those flagpost holders the other day just put the gravey on the biscuit for me. When I had 'em all located, I stood on the hill there, took a deep breath, and actually said outloud, " There ya go boys.... From me to you.... Shine On!" As I gathered my equiptment and drove away from this hallowed ground, I got the peaceful, easy feeling that they were saluting me! What a Memorial Day memory! Well, work only when ya have to.... otherwise..... go Bountyhunting!!!! Have a good one! Bigsquid55
