Now you gotta look at my Irish coin

Found this in an Elementary school payground a few miles north of here. You can't see it in the picture, but at the very bottom under the deer - excuse me, the red deer - it says 1 pound (I don't know where that symbol is on here)

MrGee

MrGee that one is very neat! nice find!

Every so often I ask how many coins from different countries everybody has found. You're doing well in that regard. I'm up to about 35 or 40 different countries. Got a new one this morning too, from Norway. Keep at it!

Chris

Nice coin. I've got several pound coins and a jar full of foreign coins from all over the place. Being an inland seaport a lot of foreign coins get dropped here in Portland.

Bill

Yep. A seaport would be a lot different as far as foreign coins are concerned. Wisconsin however, is not a hotbed of foreign tourists. I'm surprised that I havent' found any Mexican coins cause we seem to have a lot of those folks around here. There are several "seaports" around Lake Michigan and Lake Superior but dI'm a ways removed from any of them. I'm still waiting for the Edmund Firtzgerald to dock.

MrGee

You have a long wait. Perhaps you should hunt where the Mexican folk hang out. I've got a slew of Mexican coins, some up to $50 and $100 in their money and they are beautiful coins - not like our crappy coins.

Bill

What? No Leprechaun? Maybe there's a pot of gold around. Just keep an eye peeled for a rainbow.
Beautiful coin, congratulations on finding it and thanks for posting photo.

Thanks for the laugh AndyIreland. Ya gotta remember that those are pretty rare over here. We're a long way from Ireland, which is a shame because I always wanted to visit.

There is a city called Red Deer, in Alberta, Canada just for fun.
