lost my class ring several years ago in a ditch(trying to get off
my finger and out the window it went).will be using my new/used
mxt w/a 6x10 dd.but not quite sure what setting(s)to use or what
vdi(s)to look for.any idea's or suggestions would be appreciated.

Heres my assumptions most class rings are 10kt gold and you are a male
so should be fairly large.. going by those assumptions I would dig #20 up into the pulltab range...Now if you are a big guy might come in as high as the screwcap and if you are a small thin guy might have to dig down to #10 into the foil range..I would consider a size 12 as a big guy or at least big fingers and an 8 a small guy or very thin fingers...We also have to take into consideation what the gold is mixed with so these are ballpark figures and am sure you get the idea...You really didn't give us much info and if your a fairly recent
graduate your ring made not be made of gold (can't remember the name of this) but this type would probably fall in the penny range.Hope this helps and if you have a class member with about the same size hand in your area just run his ring under your coil and go from there..Good luck my friend as it may have been found and is not even there, but sure worth a try....

let's say 10k and i lost it 30+yrs ago.this ditch is loaded w/trash
i started in a certain spot and got about 20yds.too much gettin up
and down so many hits of alum. that i was gettin frustrated maybe
i should stake out a 25yd grid and dig up every hit.i had my mxt set
up in relic mode gain at +2,disc at 1 w/ a 10x6 dd coil.was this the
setup?
