I got my hands on a Nikon D50 with the standard lens. It may not be that great to some, but it is far and away better than I expected after reading all over the web what junk it is.

Now if I can just learn how to use it! I took a few photos tonight, heres one. You will note that I don't know how to Photoshop yet, hence the powerlines.[attachment 36348 resize.jpg]
 
That's a good photo.

I'm surprised that you read the the D-50 is 'junk'. My impression is that it's a nice camera capable of producing real good photos.
