Good luck with your new detector! I hope it serves you as well or better than speedy did. I too made the plunge today and ordered a Golden Umax to compliment my Tejon and Vaquero. My fiancee doesn't know yet and I know she's going to say that I don't need three metal detectors. Maybe I don't but I guess that I'm a nut for detecting like you. What's wrong with spending some money on a hobby you really enjoy?? At least I'm not a concert violinist and am buying a Strataverious!! I'm getting my like new Golden Umax for $320.00 shipped - Not a bad deal if you ask me. I can always sell one of them later if I don't like it compared to my other ones , or I can just keep all three and I'll have enough detectors around if I have friends or relatives who want to go detcting with me. Besides I've heard of people who have MORE than three detectors , so I'll just deal with the fiancee's fury for a day or two until she comes around. Wish me luck!! In a month or two, it'll be all smoothed out.

$320 ain't that big a deal.

I spent $400 on my son's phone.

I have thought about the Golden, but I am stuck on single tone.

If they ever seem not good enough to me, I'll probably get something els.

But I feal at one with the machines I got.

Really hated my Compadre breaking down.

I hated it so much, I got another one.

its my 1st time writing at this site,,,i usually am at treasure depot or tom dankowskis website (more there then at my own website...i'll exclude my sites name because im not here to advertise it)...i just want to say u all seem friendly...i like that....HEY BEALE, we posted together at other sites....

My friend who actually was pres of a detecting club that i no longer belong to builds guitars for a living...BUT...he modifies Compadres so they can pin point and have a second tone for SILVER coins...
he is a real nice guy too...he was (maybe still is) president of the Gopher State Treasure Hunters club (due to a few disputes and how i am a strt foward guy, i am not too well liked their by some, so dont go mentioning panman to them unless u want your house egged , but about half a dozen i still detect with...but thats what happens when they keep making the mini hunt the same day as fishing opener every year and dont care what paying members have to say about it)...
..anyways....I think i will call him and ask him what he'd charge to do this, and/or what he'd charge (if anything) for the "prints" for doing this on your own..
..he says it's kinda easy, but he is one of those guys who is truly modest and doesnt realize how intelligent he really is.
Anyone interested in me finding this info out?
