Went to a club sponsored buried coin hunt up on the Illinois, Iowa border this past week end. I have been waiting for this hunt to have a opportunity to put one of these CTX 3030's in my hands.
The dealer that sold me my E-Trac was present as I knew he would be, and immediately he put one in my hands and said go try it out. My first big surprise was the feel of this machine, having heard so much about the extra weight I was concerned with that. I don't have the best back around and the E-Trac does burden me some .
The CTX3030 did not tax my back problem nearly so much as the E-Trac, It's ballance was a big plus for me, I couldn't even notice the additional weight. I had some problems with the button's and there functions, but printing out some instructions from the CD that comes with it will help there.
I am wanting it to hunt in the water as well as on land and he told me the water proof head phones are now coming out and he had a couple sets with him. I talked to him about the new 6" loop's availability and he said that, that is still a problem. That loop is a must for me. I have been hunting with one on my E-Trac and it is a indispensable accessory.
I am going to Florida for a week and when I return I'm going to see about ordering one. Surprisingly enough I'm not even getting any flack from the better half.
Everyone says this machine is better then the E-Trac, If so It must be a hell of a machine, Monies always tight when your on a fixed income but I'm willing to put the money out to find out for myself. Rick IL
