about the innards of an Excal!! This morning I thought my detector was acting a little funny. I got out of the water and started looking through the clear spots on the body and there was about two drops worth of water inside!! I thought I just might puke right there but remained calm.. I talked to the guy I got it from and we discussed either him fixing it for me or me doing it myself. I have read about this but never planned on actually having to do it! Well, a good drying and board examination and two new and slightly thicker o-rings with new grease later...IT WORKS! I sure don't want to do that again but would like to get my hands on whatever tools they use to remove the knobs!

I'll take the lack of responses as verification of how NOT FUN such an undertaking can be! LOL.. My knob o-rings all looked good but if anybody has any info or details on how to replace those I'd sure like to see it! Now that the genie is 'somewhat' out of the bottle I might as well get schooled up on that process!
