went out yesterday to a church that i have hunted for years i mean i have been hunting this place every since i got my first detector a whites dfx and thats when they first came out ,also hunted it with a se pro, and the etrac this place has alot of ground it was built in 1855. so i get there and hunt a spot that i hunted several times with the etrac wasnt there 5 minutes and found a 1912 wheat couple minutes later i find a 1899 barber dime at 4 inches cant believe the etrac missed that one but there is alot of iron nails and junk so the next coin was a 1898 v nickle and in the same hole was three big rusty nails and a 3 inch X 3 inch piece of flat rusty steel it picked it up loud and clear with that junk up above it i couldnt belive it. i also found a 1900 v nickle , 1916 buffalo nickle and another buffalo nickle i couldnt see a date on. the ctx is for sure the best detector ive ever had love it

oh yeah and i only got to hunt a area about 40 ft by 40 ft and there is several acres to go so i think there will be alot more to come

So umm.... Where's this church at?

:yikes: Man I can't wait to really be able to go start using mine...That's awesome Bradley! Congrats.. I gotta get that program downloaded onto mine...

A buddy of mine, Detect History, just bought a set of Pivot Heads. They are 1080P HD Macro...pricey, but dude, so worth it!

That's a ringing endorsement Bradley! Quick question, I found the list of programs. I'd downloaded a bunch of them, but hadn't grabbed the old sites old coins one yet. I've had about a 50/50 success rate with that list of programs. Long story short, if it's a .zip file, when I try to unzip it after downloading it, it never works. Any advice? Curious if maybe you just renamed the file to add the .mlf extension rather than going through the unzip process...

Thanks!

you have to have a program to upzip files... i use Izarc and it works great.. once you have downloaded the file, open it and then click on the file and then click on upzip it and it will unzip it to the same foleder that the zip file is in...
let me know it that works or if i can help any more...

WM, hopefully this link works correctly...

I had to download it as a zip, and then just change the file name, manually swapping the last 3 characters from .zip to .mlf.

Man... don't tell me that, although that is why I bought this machine. I once lived on the Central Coast of California and one day I was driving home from the beach and saw a little park sign with an arrow pointing the way. I made the turn and there it was, a small park that was sort of un maintained and shabby. I broke out my Sovereign and started to hunt. Within a short time, I had dug several buffalo nickels, silver coins and Indian Head pennies. I was in glory land. I pounded that park for months and dug coins dated back to the late 1800's including a seated dime. One day I cruised by and a worker was building a frame for a concrete entry way into the building. I asked him if he minded if I checked the newly exposed area for coins, he said it was OK so I dug about 10 older coins in the small dug out area. Now I'm going to have to drive up there and search the whole park again for coins the Sovereign couldn't reach. To this day, I don't know why someone else hadn't cleaned out that park before I found it. Good luck hunting your church area again... Nes
