Novice's luck

Today I decided to take my brother-in-law hunting with me. He is a history buff, but he has never caught it and has had the luck of the rookie. A coin of 8 maravedis probably of Carlos III approximately 1780. It's very worn, so I'll have to go through my files to make sure.
He has gone to his house, jumping for joy. Me more...

Ahh, and my cat's paw :bouncy:

Nice find… one suggestion I would like to make… when posting your old coins, put something well known and common next to it for scale… that coin looks large, but hard to tell…
It’s interesting to see what folks in other countries are finding even if we have no idea what it is.
So do you think your brother will take up detecting now??
History and detecting go hand and hand..

If you're right. but now it is not possible, he has taken her to her house and I suppose he will sleep with her under her pillow. :ROFLMAO: But it's basically 30mm in diameter.
He has always liked to detect, but we had not been able to go out until today, due to his work.

No we are not. Keep all that really old stuff to yourself so I dont have to whine to the wife we need to travel! More pics of the cats paw are just fine 😂😂😂

Very nice find for sure. (y)

fwcrawford : the size can be referenced by the paw size of what i'm thinking is of a kitty cat. :heh:
