Holey Cow! I have seen that button before and some similar to it! I did a search and found this similar button online:

I am by no means an expert but I would definitely say it is in the same catagory... an 18th century patriotic button. Can you post a picture of the back?

J.B. Thanks for the information. I have been digging around the net today and it appears that the button is from the late 1700's and may have been connected to some military organization. I wonder how it ended up in a CW camp? Thank all of you for your input--I'm now going back and taking another look at all my flower buttons.

all to well.. but the flower button i would think is a keeper good find. i find them all the time i think someone should write a book on flowers buttons from the war beteen the states how cool that would be....i was thinking have you all talk about hunting to someone that never has & they L@@k at you like why the hell do you do that????? its all i Think about well all most HH.
