Vision in default coin mode:
Took a square cut nail.... discriminated it out...
Laid a penny under the nail.... hit the penny hard...
That is good vision :cheekkiss:
Maybe someone had mentioned this, if so, sorry I missed it...

I tried the same thing. I had pull tabs disc'ed out, took a dime and put it directly under a square pull tab (just about covered the entire thing) it hit it as a target hard but the vdi was off.

What did your penny vdi at?

But can you hit a nickel that way? a nickel and pull tab?

There is no detector made today that will see thru iron, aluminum or any other metal. If the two targets are touching or very close together the detector sees them as one target. It will average the two targets. You have to put some distance between the targets. Here is a simple test. Take a prescription pill bottle 3-4 inches tall, put a coin in the bottom of the bottle , set a rusty nail or pulltab that is discriminated out on top then sweep it and see if your detector will hit the coin. You won't. I've never seen or heard of any detector passing this test except maybe the older 100 kHz TR units.

Crazyman you are correct. the dime under the bottlecap became invisible. I even tried each single frequency with no difference.
