Well after a few days of pretty hard use on the f2 at the parcks have noticed the F2 locks down on Quarters and dimes real well.It also locks down on pennys pretty well. But theres one problem havnt found manny nickels with it and it doesnt lock down well on them. I suspect its because f the 5.9klhz frequency it uses. The only problem with that is most pull taps rings and nickels all hit in the same range. Wich means less gold finds any ideas?

Like gold & nickles & buttons, etc.....that's why Iove the T2/ F75.
I think George Paine said once that the ideal freq. for all was like 12-something? The 13khz is great for my style hunting, while I keep the C$ for coins @ 7khz with the best "lock" I have seen yet.
Be nice if Texas would think outside the box for once and try to make something with the ability to really change freq. instead of repackaging every unit. So, like if you were coinshooting you could dial down to 6khz, & gold/relic hunting say up to 20khz.....Minelab did this with diff. coils, and as with the Omega they love selling high priced accessory coils so, hey why not?

I bought an F2 for a competition hunt machine right after they came out. I usually block out iron, but not foil or above. I've found a lot of nickels in the last couple of years. I haven't had any problem with them. They usually seem to pick up in the low 30's range. Sometimes I have to slow the sweep speed down.

I used to use my Tesoro Cutlass II uMax for hunts, but the Fisher is lighter, and I can always look at the meter. The tone ID is nice too.

Good luck.

Bob

It would be cool if you could twist a dial and change the freq. Technically speaking, is it really that difficult?
