Went out this morning with my new 70. Got permission to hunt a place off a country road that was built in 1845. A big two story stone home that the new owner is gutting. This place has a nice big yard and the wonderful treasure hunting thoughts were just running through my head.
Not the case. My best find was a round pulltab follwed by some lead and sqaure roofing scraps.
I was getting great depth, for we have had alot of rain. Though I am new to Fisher, not metal detecting,
THERE JUST WASNT ANYTHING THERE. Of course my wife had to take full advantage of the opportunity by razing me about my new expensive machine that came up empty.

Did you try searching about 60 feet away from the foundation? Just a thought. You didn't say where you specifically detected and the construction there could be interfering. Check the yard area.... any areas where there used to be agricultural fields?

I'd tell your wife the machine can't make coins... You can only dig them if they're there. There are some places that seem like awesome prospects that turn up little or nothing. There's various reason for this such as alot of iron, too much shallow trash, backfill... etc. There's alot or things that can affect your performance. Just go slow, overlap your coil alot and don't get too carried away on your sensitivity. The 70 one of the better machines out. You have the right machine... Good luck!

Couple of reasons...perhaps it has been gone over well by competent detectorists. Area has been resodded. Trash in area is masking good targets..Just a fact of life pertaining to the hobby some of the places that look good just don't produce.
Remember other detectorists are looking for the same type places and have heard of actual clubs hunting an area which wouldn't leave a lot.Remember you have a CZ in your hand and it will indeed produce in the near future..
