It was in the 60s last two day.Went out for the first time and dug about 8 nickels and some quarter and dimes, skiped the pennys. Also set my threshold by not useing my headphones, then i pluged my headphone in and it seem to be perfect.I was always having trouble with it being to scratchy and wrong but this way it seem to work better, the headphones were whites the ones that came with my idx.Now i use them on my mxt.Well good hunting to everyone this summer.TO YOU PEOPLE WHO LIVE WHERE IT IS SUMMER ALL THE TIME YOU DONT KNOW HOW LUCKY YOU ARE.Maybe when i retire i can move.Good luck.

I've condemned my self to digging those ^#*@! pennies because I've discovered that other goodies can hide using a zinc or penny/dime VDI disguise. Copper jewelry and tokens being only two of them. And if the target is 4" or deeper I really don't trust the VDI. More than once my VDI has been wrong at only 4". Whether it's due to nearby trash or minerized soil doesn't matter. Any positive numbers 4" or deeper I dig.

I've found more than a few rings and indian head penneys in the penny range (also a couple large cents circa 1857).I dont pass them up very often, especially if they're deep.
