actually other flowers posted as well.......day lillies and succulents........
the bottom right picture is shown in my computer properly.....i dont know why but when i post it here it is sideways.....lol.
i even turned the picture sideways on purpose to see how it would look....no difference

the picture on the top right is interesting because that lonnnnnng flower comes once a year and it is rather long. I learned that the plant should only be watered from the top !!!

What are the round shaped Cactus plants with the yellow colored flowers in the last picture? Does it ever get cold where you live, and if so, do the Cactus plants need to be protected? Thanks for sharing. :clapping: Kelley (Texas) :)

Thank you Kelly......i will research the name....most of them have boring scientific names......yes we do get frost a few times during the winter....i do not cover them......they usually survive ........some of the large ones survive but later i see frost dammage....
i rarely snows....in fact the "snow" usually melts before it hits the ground.....
Most cactus have "pups" growing from their base ...if one wants to get into cactus...if its a tall cactus with "branches" break a piece off and simply stick in dirt and it will root itself.....if its round like in the picture....little ones will grow at the base and same directions....break it off from the parent pland and stick it in the dirt......no need to root it...easy maintenance.....too much water will rot a cactus..

Planting the Cactus sounds simple enough, just have to remember to not water very much. Thanks for the information. Kelley (Texas) :)

cactus: you either love them or hate them.........when they bloom, the flowers are superspecial...bright colors .the bloom only last a few days......i have one probably 12 ft tall that only bloom at night.....huge white flower........by 9AM one can see the flower fading quickly

I use the SIMON & SCHUSTER called GUIDE to CACTI and SUCCULENTS but im sorry to say its not in there....i did see some similar cactus plants with a different name but the name i SAW at the nursery was BALLOON CACTUS/Notocactus magnificus.....now we all know :)

there are tons of books with beautiful cactus pictures....i have a couple but the Simon and Schuster book is my cactus "bible" and there is other valuable information such as where it is from originally maximum temp in cultivation etc..
