'nother Compadre

Active member
Picked up another nearly new Compadre with the 5.75" coil for $90. Couldn't pass it up, hardly a scratch on the bottom of the coil.

I am really curious how the 5.75" coil is going to perform.
I have one with 8"(?) coil that works great. Now I have 2 traveling detectors that my wife and I can take in the trailer.
This is gonna be fun.

You will like the 5.75 coil I hit coins regular at 6 to 7 inches very hard I also went in and adjusted the sens up till it chattered then backed it of slightly works good . also have the 8 inch coil for it as I modded it to change coils Good Luck and HH

stop" before i want to buy another one,

I thought about modding these 2 for sensitivity and coil swapping but then thought why? They work well as they are and are a cheap but effective detector to take on camping or motorcycle trips
Although I still might think about putting plugs on the coils so I can pack them tighter..

The way all of you guys talk, you have me thinking those compadres are like potato chips. you cant stop at one.

Radio,
My first detector was a one knob beep and dig Compass 40 years ago. I found more gold and silver with it than any other detector ever.
The Compare reminds of that detector with 4 times the depth. They are a great little machine.
One is usually good enough, but my wife likes to go with me sometimes so more than one was the order of the day.

Best $90 machine you can get, I see them all the time now for around $100 I don't think some people know the true value of the Compadres lol

The last one I bought had a bad coil. I got it into Tesoro before the axe fell on warranties and they replaced the coil for nothing. This new one looks virtually new so I think it will last a good long time.
At $100 for used it almost doesn't make sense to buy unless they are in great shape because after $50 initial fee, shipping and possible repair costs it costs way too much.
