I think i will give minelab another year before i part with $2.400 for this detector just to see what they are going to do about all of the build and tech problems they are going thrue. I really had my heart set on this detector but i am just not a gambling man at this point with the economy beeing as bad as it is. i don't want to wind up with a cold duck and be out alot of money if you know what i meen. i really wished they would have spent a little more planing time with it and tested it for a good bit before releasing it to the consumer. it's like a bad dream because this detector is every thing i have been looking for. :sad:

This detector is amazing. You wont be disapointed at all. the design flaws it has are minimal at most. I have only come across one design flaw, the headphone cord and i fixed it with a 2 dollar adapter at radio shack. this isthe best MD'ing purchase I have made so far. I have a few people I know that upgraded from the Etrac and love it. If the money is to much then ofcourse hold out and save up, but if not , then go ahead and get the sucker!!!! you will love it.

No regrets here. No problems either. Best machine I've owned.

It a AWESOME detector .:twodetecting::minelab::cheers:

I agree with ronfin about the price. The only problem I have had with mine is me. You can just about bet on a price increase on all machines after January 2013 so give that some thought. Good luck with your decision and HH :minelab:

Most of the problems you read about in the forums are either isolated incidents or overall very low occurrences. I'm not saying the problems aren't real, but people tend to over emphasize the bad. Other than the sticky minelab emblems, my ctx 3030 has been functioning great since day 1.

I was thinking of buying one of the new 3030's but i just don't know, they are having more problems than just the lower locking handle. i mean the list go's on and on. what do you guy's think maybe give the detector another year so they can work all the bug's out.....

i hope for the money that they fix all the things that are wrong with it so that the customer doe's not have to send it back a dozen times before it's fixed. i was really thinking about buying one but i think i may hold off for another year. i guess it's like the old saying go's first year worst year. ''LOL''.

"the list goes on and on"? "send it back a dozen times before its fixed"? "just to see what they are going to do about all of the build and tech problems"? "i don't want to wind up with a cold duck"?

If you don't want one yet, or if you never get one, that's your choice. In the meantime, you're welcome to come here and to read about all the finds that CTX 3030 owners are making in places that other detectors have "beat to death". But considering you made your first post to this forum yesterday, and three times have posted that you aren't going to buy one, don't feel as if you need to post it again. We got it the first time. You can take your whining to some other forum, this is not the place for it.
