I don't know of any detector that can tell the difference in those coins any better than the Explorer. The Explorer is in my opinion very user friendly. It is designed as a professioanl detector and as such is ultra sensititity and will really do a great job. It is not a simple turn on and go machine with most of the function set at the manufacture and the user lives with them. In a very short time a user wonders why he or she thought it was complex.
However, if a user will start off with the use as suggested in the users manual then the learning curve is not so long. It is rather amazing to see question of which the answer is right out of the users manual and clearly explained. The first thing to do is get the manul, the detector, and set down and go through the use as suggested in the manual. then set down and go back over the manual and after one is satisfied with what the machine does then go to advanced. Many users don't realize they are going from a single frequency or multiple frequency machine to a powerful time domain pulse induction detector. This machine is a sub-group of a PI that has lots of power and will discriminate.
I and others will be glad to help you work your way through the operation if you would like our help.
