Not use to digging so deep !!

I had forgotten how deep a CZ-5 is and almost abandoned a worthwhile effort. I got permission to hunt the yard of an older house here in my home town. I decided to take the CZ-5 out since I had not had much of an opportunity to use it. I dug a few clad coins and then I got a deep signal. I dug to a nice flap and then about 6 inches down and the signal was still there. I dug down a couple of more times to no avail. On the third time, I reached down barehanded and pulled out as much dirt as I could and way down there was a1923 wheatie. The coin was no less than 10 inches deep and i was really surprised. The wheat was really green and it made me really proud of my new to me detector. I had also forgotten how good the CZ-5 is on nickels. I only got 1 good nickel signal (love that the nickel has a high tone) and about 4 inches down there she was a nickel (what no pull tab like my other detectors?) I dug a couple of pull tab signals and guess what A PULL TAB. Got another wheatie at about 6 inches along with a quarter and several pennys. No silver yet but only searched about a third of the yard and had to go home and thaw out for a while. Going back this weekend or before for the silver!!!

Yes Pescadore, I noticed that also since using the cz. The targets are a little deeper than the other machines I've used. I find myself shaking my head and saying WoW to myself after recovering one of those deepies.
Wish it was better in iron infested sites, but I use another machine for those, no biggie.

Here is the way I have my CZ controls mounted in a tool belt. This removes so much weight from the shaft .

The last CZ I had was an iron magnet but I haven't had this one in much yet. I also have another detector if needed. Right now I am trying to find the best way to deal with the weight of the detector. I have a swingy thingy coming in and hopefully it will help. My arthritis doesnt like the weight of the CZ-5. I was thinking about trading it for a lighter detector but decided to keep it because it is so deep and I love the meter over the digital ones.

Try chest mounting or hip mounting it. I chest mount mine. I don't think I would last long if I had to swing the whole thing.

That is exactly what i was thinking on, chest mounting my 3D, I believe this would help tremendously.
