Was able to get out for a quick hunt and was rewarded with this. This is my first Tungsten ring, lucky for me my friends batteries went dead otherwise he probably would have gotten it. He got one of these rings about a month ago that fit me real nice but without the stone, this one is too small. He did offer to trade. My machine showed 12-30 and did not sound like a penny.

Nice score! I have been swinging an Excalibur 2 for about a year down here in Florida (and I also have a Pro-Pointer). I am leaning toward adding an E-Trac to my arsenal. How do you like using the Excalibur and E-Trac combo?

The reason I picked the Excaliber is because I was so impressed with the ETrac. I have made a lot of nice finds with both machines. The Excaliber was paid for itself in its first year, together they are a deadly combo. I bought the one with the 8 inch coil, sometimes wonder if I should have gotten the 10. Retrieving targets in the water can be tricky, watched a small gold ring fall out of my scoop and never could find it.

Glad to hear you like the combo! We came at it from exactly opposite angles since I have had the Excalibur for about a year and am now considering an E-Trac. I did go with the 10 inch coil on the Excalibur and mine more than paid for itself within a year. Do you feel that having experience with the Excalibur will help me with learning the E-Trac? I know the audio tones are different, but I am hoping my experience with variable tones, pinpointing, all metal vs. discriminate, etc. with the Excalibur will bear at least some relevance to the E-Trac since they are both Minelabs that employ multi frequency technology.

Real nice find and picture. I volunteered to find a tungsten wedding ring for a friend. Took a while but that's exactly (12-30) where this one hit as well.

NebTrac

I found that the learning curve was easier going from the ETrac to the Excal. In my opinion, the Etrac is a true turn on and go machine just like the Excal. I do this on numerous occasions, my detecting partner is quite good with his White
