The X-Terra detectors are on the top heavy side, I know many of you will agree.
Here's a simple add-on without voiding the warranty, Simply remove the stock arm-rest stand and replace with a SunRay Explorer stand.
Drill a hole in the SunRay stand and using the same arm-rest threaded nut, Insert and tighten together with the arm cup. Can still easily be adjusted for different arm lengths, Still a little top heavy but not near as the stock setup.
You can even add some weight inside the SunRay stand, Depending on the terrain, a dead 9-volt battery inside the stand will greatly keep the detector from tipping over. Otherwise, Even when empty it is a big improvement over the stock setup.
The SunRay stand has a wider base to hug the ground, It works well. Make sure you still use the double sided tape on the stand.
