Not picking on any body's techniques for posting....

Buried Crap NJ

but I see some great finds being posted with the CTX 3030 and have noticed that many have picked up Gary Drayton's method of posting finds on the screen of the 3030.While I like to take care of my tools they tend to get bumped now and then. I have always washed my detectors off with mild soap and water after each hunt. make sure the sand /dirt gets cleaned out of the hard to get places. I managed to in less than 30 days of hunting with the 3030 on the beach back in June,to get a nice scratch on the screen. I haven't a clue to how. Each time I saw sand on the screen I stopped and gently blew it off the screen. Then one day boom scratch, really pissed me off! Now I see you guys putting targets on the screen and taking pictures? I am guessing you guys put a protecting film over the screen? Do you think that scratch liquid will fix my screen or should Just keep looking at it!

I will put a protective screen on like what I put on my smart phone.... thanks for sharing

that is just wrong, i can barely look at that picture.
I did try to hurt mine and he's got a toy gun on it! I saw in the mall the guy putting protective film on phones cut to size. wasn't alot of money. I just was my scratch gone first.

Also notice there selling on Ebay the clear plastic vinyl covers that slip over the display head would work to.

I purchased the protective film and used a Fiskars Paper Trimmer to cut the film to the exact size of the screen, it works and fits perfectly.

I dont worry too much about small scratches. I take reasonable care of it but see it and use it like a tool.

Protective film over the screen does wonders. I got one and know I can put all the finds I want on my screen without cringing.

Nushield already cut to fit Minelab CTX3030. Go to site, choose "Minelab", then "CTX3030".

It may be just a matter of a persons monitary stature... Or maybe just how they were brought up. I have a friend that just throws everything in a heap. Likewise everything he owns looks like it was freshly removed from the trash. Personally, i pride myself with the manner in which i keep my equipment and appearance. Additionally, if I were to ever want to sell the CTX, for a newer model, it's certainly easier to sell and brings better $'s when it looks nice. Just my opinion. HH
