Not much time to post. Shelle's home now...

Shelle just got home a few hours ago. She's sore, of course, but doing pretty well. She really wanted to get back to our bed and family. Believe it or not, her main complaint is where the IV infiltrated in her right arm. It's all swollen, red and painful. I keep heating up hot packs for that. Doc says it'll be a week before that goes away. I'm still trying to figure out why they put it in her dominant hand...?

The family sure is glad she's home. The dogs were really excited and ALL the cats curled up all around her on the couch. Of course, knowing them, it could just be the heat packs! Shelle doesn't want to go to bed as that's all she's been in for days. It farther to get her to the bathroom, though.

I went all out to satisfy her her culinary requests. I got her some chicken noodle soup, saltine crackers and some sprite. She made it through a few spoons of the soup, half a cracker and a few sips of soda. Then she passed out asleep from all the exhaustion. I always knew I made an exciting meal!

She goes back to the surgeon in about 2 weeks to check her incision, but he thinks she's gonna be in good shape. He's pretty sure he got everything and further treatment shouldn't be necessary. But they'll run tests every so often to make sure. I DO hope he's right.

Shelle's sister, Renee', will tend her for the next fortnight and take her to the hospital as I have to leave for the coast for two weeks of dog-training on Monday - I don't want to go, but I need it for my accreditation and it's only offered once a year there. Her doctor says she should be fine as long as she doesn't strain or pull to do anything. I should be able to call and check in every day. Her mom's been here (staying with her sister) and will take over duties until the 11th when she has to fly back to Kentucky.

Well, that's it for now. Thanks for all the nice words and well wishes. I copied and read them all to her in her hospital room. When I asked what she thought, all I got back was a very light snore. But I'm sure she heard them at some level. :)

Yall take care.
