Not much chatter about the MX5

I'm a bit surprised that there isn't more discussion on this new machine. I'm not a White's guy, but I like to keep up on all the technology. This debut seems to have been met with deafening silence. What's the deal with the MX5?

Dan: I'm surprised as well. I did a post below about the MX5 vs the M-6 with very few responses. Puzzling?!

Just ordered one. Should be here next week. Will let you know how it does here in southern cali.:detecting:

I think a number of factors come into play here.

First, judging by the number of White's posts here versus the number of posts for other machines, I'm guessing that there are relatively few Whites users on this forum.

Second, I don't remember the M6 making any sort of "splash" at all, even though most M6 owners love that machine and think it is one of Whites best (and most underrated) machines.

Third, if the two tone ferrous/nonferrous option proves as useful as on the MX5 as it is on the Etrac, I believe there will be tremendous chatter about that! (Much of it by me!) The two tone ferrous/nonferrous option, or TTF as they call it on the Etrac forum has given me more and better finds than any other Etrac program!

If the MX5 is as good at finding gold as the M6 is (an Etrac weakness) and the TTF functions on it as well as it does on the Etrac, I see nothing but great things coming from the MX5 - and if more White's users show up here, I could even envision the need for a separate MX5 forum.

Mine should be here today or tomorrow. I will let you know.

You mean same technology because its not really old
