Not much, but we got out.

My buddy Lee and I went to an old housing area and got a couple of keepers. I only got the one 44 merc and Lee got a 43 and a 42. Lot's of wheaties. Mine were a 1916 or 1918, 2-42's, 1-44, 1-46, 1-52, 1-53, 1-57 and 1-58. I also got a kids Junior Fire Marshal ring and a lead warrior toy. This place is filled with lot's of crap and clad coins and once we get through all of this then maybe more silver should start showing. HH.

Nice coins, esp the Merc. Didn't GR just snag a Junior Fire Marshall ring? That's worth some $$ then if I remember correctly. Do you know how to put your camera in macro mode so it can take close up pics of your coins? That's the key to getting closeups of your coins. We still getting decent weather across this way too. I think it was 45

I'm glad you got some hunt time in and found some goodies. I bet there's some more good stuff hidin' in all the crap...so keep poundin' away my friend:thumbup:

Same Ring that GR found also. Like I said before...What are the odd's of 2 being found and then posted 1 right after the other. Pretty good I would say. Hope you make many more great finds on a return trip Eddie. Dig a little Silver for me while your at it! Good Luck and HH Buddy!

I plan on hitting that place next week sometime about that place I mentioned in my PM to you. I'll give the smaller coil a try and see if I can't dig up some silver for you buddy. HH and hit those books on your research.:clapping:

Eddie

I hope you are right about more silver in this place. I'm sure there has to be more and we haven't even put a dent in this place yet. Take care and good luck if you are able to get out. HH.

I do use macro on my camera, but when I try to really get a close up of my finds the image gets blurry. I'm still trying to figure out how to upload my photos on the forum so that when you click on the photo the images get larger. Not sure what I am doing wrong because when you click on my photos the picture is the same size. That is kind of neat that GR and I found the same ring. Mine still has most of the red paint around the face of it. Did you get a chance to read the story on the gold coins that I sent to you? Hope you get out again soon and find some more big silver.:clapping: Good luck and HH.

Ah,the 50's.Even though I wasn't in school then I can feel the joy of running out for recess with the new ring and fire hat and then the pain of loosing that ring.Oh my! Great find ! I love mine.GR and that's my girl wearing mine in my post.

I haven't received any story from you yet?? When did you send it? On the macro thing my camera says 8" is the closest you can get. Any closer and I imagine it would be blurry.

I think you gave your ring to your girl GR.:clapping: I remember the 50's quite well GR and I have to admit that they were the best times of my life and if I could go back and relive all those good old days I would do it in a heartbeat. Now they are just in pictures and memories that I will cherish always as long as my mind doesn't go TU on me. HH.

I was born in 1961, but I always say that I wish I lived through the 50s. Great movies, cars, and everything else. After the 50s I think it was all down hill! Nice finds there Ed!

Those were the best of times for sure Erik and that good "ole" rock and roll was pretty cool also.:clapping:and still is for that matter. My only regret is that I didin't keep the cars I had back then. Had a 51 Chev, a 56 Chev and a 58 Chev Belair two door hardtop. HH.
