Not knocking my Explorer but . . .

Even my 705 is heavy after swinging the Deus, had to take my control box off of my Sand Shark and put it on my waist after swing the Deus, great for us old guy to keep on swinging.

My Etrac feels like a telephone pole compared to the deus... it's all I swing now!

Lol yep Etrac feels like a club! but I still use it on the beaches!

I know exactly where you are coming from, my Explorer SE Pro ended up giving me a bad case of trigger finger before heading over to the Etrac and then the featherweight Deus. As much as I loved the Explorer, had to move it on considering I don't frequent the beach any more these days.

What is trigger finger? Never heard that before except concerning guns.

I love my E-Trac , but I know exactly what your saying !

We have been saying this for the last 7 years.

We had thousands of Minelab users in the UK going back to the 1980`s including myself.

Now all you will see are other machines, especially the XP Deus.

XP recently had to expand their factory to cope with the additional call for their Deus.

Happy Hunting,

Jerry.

I still love my CTX 3030, but only use it on short hunts, I go for the Deus on all day hunts. I still think Minelab has the advantage on the beach, but am getting better at using Deus in the parks. I won't be getting rid of either one.

I had issues with the weight on the Explorer being transferred to the lower part of my hand causing ligament issues (from long hunts). My finger joints would simply lock up after extended use of the detector. The Etrac grip angle was redesigned to offer better balance, though the damage was already done by then, hence the move to a lighter detector.

Sometimes I have to switch hands when it gets too heavy. Then I have to just quit for the day. The Deus is a life changer, that's for sure!
I recently got the 11" coil and even it is a joy to swing! Those French sure are clever people. :beers:

I own the Deus but can run my Etrac all day. I am 69 years old and keep the shaft short on the Etrac so that it is closer to my body and have no problem using it for hours. I have my Deus shaft extended out further and it is the same weight as the Etrac when it is set like that.

When you keep the shaft short on the Etrac does it incorporate anti-gravity so as to be as light as the Deus?
I don't think any detector is as light as the Deus.

I do know kind of what you mean about shortening the shaft of the Minelab. I do the same thing on my Explorer so the coil is about 6 inches
from the tip of my toe when swinging. But it's still a heavy beast.
