After swinging the Deus a couple of weeks I picked up my Explorer and wondered how I used to swing it all day long!

What is trigger finger? Never heard that before except concerning guns.

I had issues with the weight on the Explorer being transferred to the lower part of my hand causing ligament issues (from long hunts). My finger joints would simply lock up after extended use of the detector. The Etrac grip angle was redesigned to offer better balance, though the damage was already done by then, hence the move to a lighter detector.
