Well, we tried a new spot for an hour and got skunked. Then we found out that when the park was built a few years ago they raised the grade several feet with fill. A bummer because it's on the site of a very old fort and working waterfront. :ranting:

So we went to another nearby park that has been hunted hard but the AT-Pro has been making some finds still the last month. Got 25 zincolns and 9 rosies. Also found a harmonica reed plate and a lead terminal from an old car battery. Still had fun though!

Good take after all !
I have had some luck in older areas that have been filled in or over by dirt. I work the tree wells, as they cannot put dirt up the trunk or it might kill the tree; where the lawn or whatever has shrubs , hedges, etc at the edge then the dirt might not be filled & still be original; if the area drops down a quick slope the over burden is either washed away or never added as they know it will be lost. Good luck, Steve in so az
