 Well, I tried to get permission to hunt a major piece of acreage today where a school once stood and where a carnival is held every year, but the organization that owns the property said no. Also double checked with the county to see if they would allow detecting in one of their parks. Even though I already knew it was one of the off-limits parks I thought it would not hurt to try. My company is having their annual picnic there tomorrow and I was kinda hoping they might soften up a little. But of course- NO! I tried to get permission for the local sate fair grounds some time back but due to insurance issues MD'ing is no longer permitted. At least I am getting some good experience is asking for permission and getting rejection. Oh well, better luck next time I guess.

sorry to hear the bad luck. you will get permission sooner or later there is a ton of places to hunt. just dont give up.....HH

I have run into the same thing, however I got a surprise yesterday in the mail, I got permission!!!!!! I send letters out with a self addressed stamp envelope to properties that I have done a little research. Waiting on a couple more and picked up more envelopes to send more.

Keep trying....
