Not every hunt gets the goodies, but it does get you out of the house!

Something I very rarely do is hunt cellar holes. But having recently returned from a long & trying business trip my energy level is low, & I didn't feel like getting in the water. So off to a cellar hole w/ the Excel.

Hunted for a couple hours in a site littered w/ large steel tubs and cans etc. One of the characteristics of the Excel when over "some" large pieces of iron, is that when reaching the outer edge of such a large piece, the Excel may false positive. Even at times depending on the shape, the false positive will be expressed when "X-ing" at the outer edge. But before anyone has a blind baby, the "X-ing" will be off as regards to the sweet spot location, to get the false positive. Further, slight movement away from this "sweet false positive point" the meter goes heavily negative. However, use of the pinpoint(wish it was VCO) will quickly reveal a large target under foot. Lastly, there is no machine I have ever used, that I would rather have in that type of location than the Execl. It is just amazing to watch the meter be in the negative for 5 to 10 minutes at a time without falsing on the iron.

So didn't find any goodies, but got to tempt the mosquitos, and a hat covered w/ spider webs(don't you just hate the webs across the face:look:)! So now that I've been spanked by a cellar hole, back to the beach!
