For the life of me I do not understand why all but the cheaper Vflex Minelab machines have to be so darn heavy.

It's just crazy that the GT and all others weigh so much..

I think the Sovereign GT could go on a diet also, but it is what it is.The older black box units mounted with V clips seem to weigh less on a good straight rod assembly. This morning inch of snow on the ground. HH Ron

Minelab needs to take a look and drop the weight on the SOVS and the Exps (Etracs)..... I see they all went up in price..yet no changes made to layouts..

It does weigh alot compared to alot of other machines but you do get used to it. Im a pretty small Gal and I'v gotten used to it. As long as I take a quick break every now and then which I do anyway for a drink and bite to eat, I can go all day long with it. As a matter of fact, My arms are getting tougher ( especially my Left as I'm a SouthPaw) So I'm quite used to it. If I want to go lightweight, I have a setup where I put my control box in my small backpack, I cut a small hole to put the connector through, its much more easy to use than having the box hanging off your side along with all your other tools. I will post pictures of this setup on Wednesday morning.

Did you know everyone was born left handed..and the smart ones over come it.??. Hahahahahahah LOL Did I mention I am right handed Hahahahah LOL  :poke:

You know I am just teasing you a little I hope.. Sounds like the meter is going to make detecting with your GT even Better.. seeing your other post above.

The older sovereigns were mounted in front of the hand grip and people started moving them to the back for better balance. Eventually ML changed their design to the back mount with the elite and GT. But they didn't move the face plate to the other side of the box. This would have been an easy thing to do and would have been much better than having all the controls sticking out of the a$$ end of the detector. I'wonder if it was because of cost or someone just wasn't thinking.
