not all treasures are found underground

I went detecting around one of the blocks in town and on the way there I saw that someone about a block from my house had some stuff out for free including a childs desk/toybox and 2 small chairs, which I took, the lady said there was some toys in the toybox, I put the things in the garage that my girls had made into their play house and looked to see what was in the toybox and found the item in the photos, it doesn't work but it is still nice.

just guessing, but it might just need a good cleaning inside!

when you twist the thing on top to wind it it does not wind, if you pull it up to set the time that works, I am thinking of seeing if there is a place in town that repairs watches and see what they think.

Great day in the morning !!!

it looks like it might just need a new battery, except I am not sure how to move the tab over to change it, I found out there is a place that fixes watches in town, I plan on going there next week to see what they think.

Great find!!!

And you're absolutely right about finding things that aren't buried. My best find like that was at a garage sale a few years ago. I bought a large box of old books and magazines for a dollar. When I got home I found a bag in the bottom with about fifty dimes and quarters from the 60's and 70's or thereabout. At least half of them were silver!

Also my second-oldest find ever was a tunic button from Emperor Maximillian of Mexico from the 1860's. It was just lying right there on top of the ground! I had been over this area a number of times before. I don't know how I missed it.
very very very cool...wonder if they knew it was in there? anyways are the stones real?
I don't know if it was in there, I know they knew toys were in there, I am hoping the watch repair person or a jewler will be able to tell me if the stones are real or not, my luck most likely not, but it is still beautiful.
