Not a very good day at all........:(

We had our club hunt yesterday at a park in Seattle and with the price of gas and the ferry fare the finds hardly put a dent in the expenses. That's it, I'm moving to North Dakota!!! I can't remember the tally on all the finds by the other club members, but my meager finds are posted below. Outside of a little bit of clad I did manage to squeak out a 1950 silver quarter, a 1952 wheatie and a sterling silver ring. I think that quarter was the blackest silver coin that I have ever dug up. The dirt was as black as tar where I found it. I did shine it up a little bit. Maybe our next club hunt will be more productive. HH.

Silver Quarters are always nice and so are Sterling Rings. I counted 6 pieces of Silver and nothing older than a Rosy plus maybe half a dozen wheat's. Still not sure about Jack's Bracelet and he may be up testing it as we speak, or write. I did manage another V today and it was an 1899 plus an old KG 1920 small cent and chunk change. As you say maybe next hunt.

That park must be a tough one Eddie! At least you got out and had fun with the other members and you found a Silver Quarter. Better Luck next time. Remember to try and think positive no matter how tough it is and hopefully you will do better. I know if I start thinking that I am not going to do good at all, it has happened that I have had just as bad of luck as you. I know I have to get out and find some different hunting grounds soon because the silver is definetly getting tougher to find. Good Luck buddy on your next trip out and hope you find a hidden hot spot.

I guess you could say that park was a tough one James. By the way, I was using your program and that quarter came in loud and clear....:) I always try and think positive, but our club definitely has to find some new places to hunt. I think I will be doing a lot of research this winter and if nothing else, more than likely the places I will want to go to will be too far for a club hunt, but there is nothing wrong with finding places to have all to yourself. HH.

Thanks jb. I knew you would have a better count on the finds than I would. I'm happy with the silver quarter and the ring. That's what it's all about. I hope that bracelet that Jack found is the real thing. See you at the meeting I'm sure. HH.

I always consider finding silver a bonus , my main goal is to get out with the club and enjoy the day swinging my detector. Besides, even after ferry fare and gas it's still cheap entertainment and good exercise.
My Quarter was older than yours and I got 5 Wheats but you got a ring, it was a good day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess any silver found on a hunt is always a plus. I think you may have my vote on your 1899 V nickle jb. As far as I know, nobody has come close to something that old and nice find by the way....:) HH.

Eddie

Yeah, sure!! Rub it in that your quarter was older than mine.......:) It was a good day after all. Hey, shouldn't you be in bed by now?....:) HH.

Eddie

Do the research and then you can go out and find new spots and hopefully get permission to detect them and who knows, you might just land that Seated that you are so desperately after. Good Luck and HH.
