The Sovereign and Excalibur has stood the test of time as a performance metal detector.Looking forward to 2014 as a better year.HH Ron

The Xcal and Sovereign are some all-time favorites, and seem to be the most modified and customized detectors I have ever seen. They definitely still stand their ground. Looking forward to using mine more in the coming new year.:detecting::twodetecting: Happy Hunting and the best of luck to all in 2014.:beers:

I noticed that the older Sovereigns are not selling at auction like they once were. I think people are holding onto them. Darn good detectors.

Free bay doesnt have but 1 Sov. Xcals..... well they are holding high. I sort of expected id see more Xcals hitting the market this winter.... but it sounds like more are going back to ML for repair getting ready for next season....

I have noticed that a lot of the sellers on E-Bay are asking close to cost of new for their used machines. In fact I see Used Excal II's for more than I paid for a new one in August. Sovereign GT's are quite scarce on the used market also. It looks like some folks like their Sov's and Excal's enough to keep them for a while. There may be better machines on the market but the Sov GT and Excal II fill my needs and do a good job for me.

I have the original Sovereign and original Excalibur , until the next big leap in Detector Technology "Not just repackaged detectors" I don't see any use in selling them.

I have (3) OLDER Model EXCALS', and I WON'T DARE let go of them!! YOU've got to BABY THEM to keep them OPERATIONAL!! Les Robinson.

Well I was just thinking of selling my second Excal, but after reading this post I might think about it...hahaha
Always for the right price I will sell it.

Cheers
