Spent the afternoon back in the woods searching for the missing pieces of the shotgun I found last week. Again...the ACE 250/Sniper Coil and GTI 1500/Stock Imaging Coil were my weapons of choice. No such luck......however, not more then 10 feet from the site where I found the shotgun barrel I found this.

Darned if I didn't find another gun. This was a toy one, and quite old at that. I only found one penny, a 1947
and an empty old tin for some kind of medicine tablets and a canning jar lid....a welcome find as those were often brought to picnic areas before there was television. The area was so thick that at times I had to nearly crawl to get from one detected area to another.

Of course I couldn't refuse a tot lot stop on the way home, especially since I only found one penny earlier in the afternoon. Got over 5 bucks and a nice bracelet with a couple of hearts on it. Darned if the sand wasn't frozen. Rather then chance a broken bracelet trying to pull it out of the sand.....I just took some sand home with me, set it in a glass of hot water and moments later the bracelet freed itself.

Now I don't believe in the "scaries" in the dark, but I knew it was a full moon tonite and I just didn't want to be wandering around the woods by myself in the dark. Here is a pic of the moon taken from my driveway as soon as I got home.
Another fine day it was with a detector in my hands.................
